Gert Thibodeau, teacher of 24 years to adults and children, is a French-Canadian artist born in Clair, New Brunswick. Her skills are well known throughout the community and are enhanced by her willingness to share her time promoting art. She continues to teach throughout the St. John River Valley. She has taught as many as five adult education classes per semester for MSAD #27 since 1988, for which she received the "Adult Educator's Award for Aroostook County", twice.
She also attended seminars at the Boston Museum of Art, and at the Portland Children's Museum, and has studied with professional artists from Quebec. Her motto is: "Art is a basic human need and is the highest expression of beauty."
Gert enjoys painting local sceneries and is also well known for her commissioned work on residences and cottages. Her artwork can be viewed at the Artistree Gallery on Main Street in Fort Kent and at her residence.
