I create my Ťwhittle peopleť to bring a little humor into the world. The reactions the carvings receive ("He looks just like Uncle Joe!") are what keep me carving. Of course, not every piece turns out as I intend. Luckily, living in Northern Maine (where it gets very, very cold) provides a simple method of removing the rejects: the wood stove!

Each piece of wood, each person, each relationship is unique. My finished carvings are part of my extended family, and like my real family, some are better looking than others! But, they are all loved - not despite their faults but because of them.
